The Town of Raymond...
Raymond, Maine
is located in the heart of the Sebago Lakes Region. Originally
settled in 1703 along the shores of Sebago Lake, this small
community of approximately 4,000 residents takes great pleasure
in their enviable environment and exceptional backdrop of lake
and mountain views.
Essential Services
Raymond offers its residents a full array of
services. Schools, medical services, a library and shopping are
all available and very close by. Raymond has two schools,
Raymond Elementary School and Jordan-Small Middle School. The
Jordan-Small school has earned the Blue Ribbon School award from
the U.S. Department of Education. Raymond does not have a high
school; resident high school students may attend Windham,
Westbrook or Poland High Schools with town transportation
provided or they may be reimbursed up to $5,500 per year per
student for private high school tuition. Please contact the Town
of Raymond for detailed information regarding high school
tuition reimbursement.
Taxes in Raymond
are among the lowest in the area, with a mere 10.3 mil rate (tax year
06-07), or $10.30 per $1,000 in valuation. That means for every
$100K in assessed value the town will collect only $1,030/year.
Raymond has managed to keep services relatively high and taxes
relatively low.
Neighboring Towns…
The surrounding towns of Casco, Naples, Standish, Sebago and
Gray offer substantial four-season facilities, and conveniences
for residents and visitors alike. The Town of Windham is
approximately 5 miles to the south east of Raymond, and is the
largest community within the Sebago Lakes Region. Windham is a
bustling commercial center, with all essential smaller
businesses and many larger national stores such as Super
Wal-Mart and Lowe’s. |
